In English Units:

  • Mass (m): 1 lb
  • Earth gravity (g): 32 ft/s2
  • Gravitational Force (f): f = m × g = 1 lb × 32 ft/s2 = 32 lb×ft/s2 = 1 lbf

In French Units:

  • Mass (m): 1 kg
  • Earth gravity (g): 10 m/s2
  • Gravitational Force (f): f = m × g = 1 kg × 10 m/s2 = 10 kg×m/s2 = 10 N

Mass conversion:

  • 1 lb = 0.45 kg

Force conversion:

  • 1 lbf = 4.45 N

Earth gravity is the same, just different in units.

1 Pound Force is dependent on gravity constant, but 1 Newton is not:

  • 1 lbf = 1 lb × 32 ft/s2
  • 1 N = 1 kg × 1 m/s2
